Julie Chen, O.D.

Julie Chen, O.D. is a California board licensed optometrist, certified to treat and manage diseases of the eye. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry at the University of California, San Diego and went on to complete her Doctorate of Optometry at the University of California, Berkeley.

Julie Chen has extensive clinical experience in comprehensive vision examinations, contact lens fittings, and managment of refractive/cataract surgery. Dr. Chen is also a Clinical Director at NVision Laser Centers in Newport Beach. In her position there, she is involved in the refractive surgery consultation process and pre/post-operative care for refractive surgery patients. She oversees patients that have undergone refractive surgeries inclusive of: LASIK, PRK, ICL, Intacs, RLE, pterygium removals, and cataract extractions. She is experienced in state of the art technologies such as custom wavefront technology and femtosecond lasers. Dr. Chen is also clincial director for NVision’s Dry Eye Clinics. She has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eyes.

Dr. Chen is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association,Orange County Optometric Society, and the Asian American Optometric Assocation. She is also a member of the highly respected Advisory Board for the Newport Beach NVision Laser Center. Dr. Chen is committed to providing excellent customer service to meet all of her patients visual needs. She resides in Orange County with her husband and four daughters. In her spare time she enjoys cooking healthy foods for the family and physical fitness. You will often find Dr. Chen and her family hiking all over Orange County.
